HS10.3 General Ecohydrology |
Convener: Keith Smettem | Co-Conveners: Andrea Gioia , Christoph Hinz |
Ecohydrology as a field of research is expanding rapidly and in the process is displacing boundaries of consolidated disciplines. The mobility of the research frontier is both exciting and challenging, especially in terms of defining what is presently encompassed by ecohydrology. This session aims to draw examples from the wide field of ecohydrology in order to portray the current diversity and common features of research frontiers in ecohydrological studies. We are especially interested in presentations that explicitly couple ecological and hydrological processes and explore modelling combinations and new measurement technologies, to answer challenging problems such as the arrangement of ecosystem structure, function and feedback responses to hydrological drivers.
