CL2.11

New insights in to late Quaternary environmental change from ultra high-resolution studies of ice cores
Convener: Ed Brook  | Co-Conveners: Rachael Rhodes , Bo Vinther , Thomas Blunier
PICOs
 / Tue, 29 Apr, 15:30–17:00

Our understanding of how climate and other aspects of the environment changed in the past is increasingly informed by better data with higher temporal resolution. New developments in analytical technology for ice cores now allows essentially continuous measurements of many parameters, including atmospheric gases, and focused detailed campaigns with traditional methods are increasingly common. These new data are providing a new window in to late Quaternary climate and environmental change. This session will focus on what these new measurements can tell us about the tempo and patterns of these past changes. Presentations on these issues and related data sets from ice cores and other archives are welcome.
