The session aims to focus on understanding, analyzing and improving each step of the process chain in order to obtain a surface climate grid: from the sensor data (in situ as well as Earth Observation data) to a map. In this context, data acquisition, data assimilation, data processing, data homogenisation, quality controls, spatial interpolation methods, box-tools, improvements on metadata and web services are topics of interest.

Also spatio-temporal analyses of large series of climate data and corresponding auxiliary Earth Observation data are specially invited.

A rigorous informatics and a computational point of view is required.
