Understanding of the rock physics has becoming an important issue; it can help in many fields in geosciences. For example, in geophysics rocks acoustic impedance can be used for seismic data interpretation, measured perophysical parameters have an important role in hydrocarbons research.
In geomagnetism, the measured rock remnance can help in data interpretation and mining research. In geology, the measured rock stress can be used for well-bore stability, understanding of rock failure and in exploration of unconventional hydrocarbons resources.

In seismology and seismotectonic the measured/calculated in-situ stress can be used for natural hazards prevention and prediction.
