The MCAA is an international non-profit association aiming at promoting and exploiting, in the broadest sense, the full potential of the community of researchers who are benefitting or have benefitted in terms of mobility from the “Marie Skłodowska-Curie action” (MSCA) for research, technological development and demonstration activities, and to foster greater public awareness of the European research. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions support researchers at all stages of their careers, irrespective of nationality. Researchers working across all disciplines, from life-saving healthcare to 'blue-sky' science, are eligible for funding. The MSCA also support industrial doctorates, combining the academic research study together with work in companies, and other innovative training that enhances employability and career development. In addition to generous research funding, scientists have the possibility to gain experience abroad and i
n the private sector, and to complete their training with competences or disciplines useful for their careers.
The MCAA is active in Europe and in other parts of the world to:
- encourage networking, cooperation and mutual understanding among Members from different countries, sectors of the economy and across scientific disciplines;
- foster global relationships as ambassadors within the world-wide research and innovation community, with particular emphasis on the Marie Curie experience of international and inter-sector mobility;
- serve as a forum of debate, enabling Members to promote the values of the Association and to enhance their own careers and the careers of other members;
- support the dissemination of the outputs of the members’ work across disciplines and internationally.
This Townhall meeting intends to promote the value of being Maria Curie fellow or alumni and member of the MCAA, sharing the members' experience of mobility and of other aspects related to this prestigious European programme. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
