EUSTACE: a worldwide daily temperature dataset (public)
Convener: Janette Bessembinder
Wed, 15 Apr, 12:15–13:15

Come along for a free lunch and interesting discussion to the EUSTACE Splinter Session at EGU!

EUSTACE will give publicly available daily estimates of surface air temperature since 1850 across the globe for the first time by combining surface and satellite data using novel statistical techniques.

During this session we wish to inform the participants about the recently started EUSTACE-project (Nick Rayner, project leader) and discuss with them how the dataset could be of use to them: for what purposes could they use the dataset, and what are their requirements considering spatial resolution, formats, information about uncertainties, etc.
Also, do they want to be kept informed about the progress of the project, in what way, and would they be interested to use preliminary products and provide EUSTACE with feedback on the products?

If you can’t make the splinter meeting, but are interested in providing such information, there will be a poster:
EGU2015-14475
EU Surface Temperature for All Corners of Earth - the EUSTACE project
Wednesday, 15 Apr 2015, 08:00-19:30 in the Red poster area. There you will be able to leave your thoughts on post-it notes.
