Convener: Andreas Petzold  | Co-Conveners: Bernadett Weinzierl , Joshua Schwarz
 / Fri, 22 Apr, 08:30–12:00
 / Attendance Thu, 21 Apr, 17:30–19:00

Aerosol radiative effects are an important aspect of the climate system that has both anthropogenic and natural contributions and are associated with large uncertainties. This session will discuss direct and indirect effects of atmospheric aerosols on the radiation budget. Interpretation of observations and modeling studies are encouraged. Special attention will be given to the understanding of the role of light-absorbing aerosols like black and brown carbon, mineral dust, and biomass burning aerosol.
