Understanding the field soil water regime is fundamental in scheduling irrigation as well as for monitoring water flow and solute transport.
New sensors have been developed to measure volumetric water content, such as Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR) and Frequency-Domain Reflectometry (FDR). These sensors are enabled to get a huge soil moisture time series data during crop life cycle. Modelling these data and do prediction could help highly to optimize the irrigation.
The R Project for Statistical Computing is the leading open-source environment for exploratory, introductory and advanced computational statistics. R includes several add-in geostatistical packages.
In this course we will use Time series analysis with R program to modelling soil moisture data.
