How to build tools for spatial-temporal modelling with R and ArcGIS
Convener: Ionut Cosmin Sandric
Thu, 21 Apr, 17:30–19:00

The integration of ArcGIS and R allows the scientists to combine professional GIS tools with the power of R processing packages. The aim of the course is to provide the scientists with the startup information on how R and ArcGIS can be used together to create geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS. During the course will offer step by step guidance on how to develop from scratch a geoprocessing tool for ArcGIS based on R-ArcGIS bridge package
Examples are provided for identifying patterns in time-series satellite data, natural hazards modelling and spatial statistics
Course objectives:
- To install and configure R with ArcGIS
- To develop from scratch a geoprocessing tool using R-ArcGIS bridge package
- To further integrate R geoprocessing tools with models created with Model Builder
