Direct Burial and the Advance of Broadband Seismic Studies
Convener: Tim Parker
Wed, 20 Apr, 10:30–12:00

The barriers to easily deployed temporary broadband seismic arrays and networks are eroding with the advent of better purpose designed instrumentation. New investment in instrumentation is being driven by researchers wanting to push the frontiers of longer wavelength seismic research into the remote regions on earth with denser networks and arrays. Please joins us to discuss the broadband installation technique renaissance that is enabling climate and volcano research to observing deep earth structure along with effecting even traditional approaches to observatory grade networks. We’ll cover equipment limitations, studies that compare installation techniques and results. We’ll open with some short presentations and then invite open discussion with attendees of the workshop on current best practices of groups that use these techniques.
