This meeting should be a first assembly for a proposed INQUA International Focus Group aiming to evaluate the relative importance of different geomorphic and climatic processes in the evolution of mountain glacier records worldwide. Addressing the wide diversity of formerly and currently glaciated mountain ranges, it will focus on analyzing regional contrasts in the impact of climatic factors on the glacier mass balance and their effect on landforms, landscape evolution, and timings of maximum glaciation. The IFG will be organized into regional and time-slice aligned groups (individual projects), with a strong focus on spatial and temporal integration.

We would like to opportunity of the EGU General Assembly to enable as many prospective scientists as possible to get involved in this initiative and discuss further actions.
