Emissions of air pollutants are still growing in Asia, specifically in India and China. Air quality is therefore a serious concern for countries in this region, but also for other regions, which may be affected by long-range transport. To elucidate the formation mechanisms of air pollution in Asia, numerous field studies have been conducted in different Asian countries in the recent years, accompanied by mandatory emission restriction strategies that have been put into action.

This session aims for presentations about recent results from field studies, but also air quality monitoring activities in Asia linked to photochemistry, aerosols, emissions of air pollutants and tropospheric chemical composition. We encourage contributions on results from previous and ongoing field campaigns to highlight scientific findings from different campaigns. However, the session is not limited to presentations from field campaigns.

All stages of data analysis are welcomed to be presented in this session, such as data presentation and modelling results as well as studies investigating the global impact of air pollution in Asia.
