|Convener: Maike Brigitte Neuland | Co-Convener: Luca Bianchini Ciampoli|
/ Wed, 26 Apr, 08:30–10:00
The session will address the development of instrumentation. This comprises (1) the design of new instruments in general or for a specific space mission as well as (2) novel instruments designed for laboratory or field use and their adaption or potential for application in space. In particular, the session is primarily targeted for instrument
o concepts, design and realisation
o adaption for space application and testing
o installation and calibration
o testing and performance.
Contributions of all kind of instruments (mass spectrometers, cameras, particle and radiation sensors for orbiters or landers, sensors for control and positioning, detectors etc.) are very welcome. In particular, those involved with the mission studies proposed for the medium-size mission opportunity in ESA's Science Programme M5 are encouraged.
