SM5.2 New developments in seismic and geodetic instrumentation |
Convener: Joachim Wassermann | Co-Conveners: Heiner Igel , André Gebauer , Christian Schubert |
We invite contributions on any recent developments in the area of instrumentation for ground based geodetic and seismic observables. These may include alternative technologies for seismometers (e.g., optical technologies), instruments for observation inertial rotations based on any physical principle (e.g. optical Sagnac interferometry, atom interferometry, etc.), tilt, strain, and gravity measurements as well as high-frequency GPS. Strongly encouraged are contributions on
experimental, low-power, low-budget as well as very wide dynamic range and high sensitivity solutions.
This session aims at establishing a link between these progressing measurement techniques, novel methods of data processing and the respective geophysical models.
