This session will be a panel session with 5-10 keynote speakers from soil science, agriculture, land and relevant policy makers. They will discuss the latest developments of soil-related policies and how they can contribute in sustainability. This will include the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the French initiative (4 pour mile) , the Global Soil Partnership and the new developments in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The objective of the session will be to show how scientific developments are introduced in policy making into those domains. Moreover, the panelist discussion will address issues on the ways that research findings are translated into policy developments.
The session invites submission from EC services related to soil, European and Global organizations with policy initiatives (FAO, IPCC, UNCCD, EEA, IPBES, GSP), important policy initiatives (4 pour Mile, GlobalSoilMap, GlobalSoilWeek. Soil Security), Scientific Networks (ESBN, WASWAC, ESSC, ECSSS, Eurosoil2020), relevant organisations (ECAF, ECPA, ELSA, etc), Research projects in soil domain (e.g RECARE, INSPIRATION, LANDMARK).
