AS1.34 Media Jón Egill Kristjánsson memorial session: clouds, aerosols, geoengineering, Arctic weather |
Convener: Helene Muri | Co-Conveners: Risto Makkonen , Annica Ekman , Gudrun Nina Petersen |
This session honours the scientific legacy of Jón Egill Kristjánsson. He was a professor in meteorology and his principle field of research was cloud microphysics and cloud – aerosol – climate interactions, including the representation of such processes in climate models and their role in climate geoengineering approaches. Furthermore, he studied the hydrological cycle and its drivers, Arctic weather and polar lows. Here we invite contributions in tribute of Jón Egill’s research traditions.
Invited speakers:
Phil Rasch (PNNL)
Ulrike Lohmann (ETHZ)
