Chronically academic is a network of academics with disabilities and chronic conditions. We welcome members across all academic disciplines. Our aim is to create a network of mutual support and resources for academics with disabilities and chronic conditions and to raise awareness for our cause in public. The members of our team all personally experience a disability or a chronic condition. We aim to assist others with practical advice helping them to find concrete solutions to issues they are facing and to share our own experiences. We include academics at all career stages, ranging from student researchers to senior academic positions.

Besides psychosocial support, we hope to offer an overview of useful resources and going forward we intend to establish a formal mentoring network for academics with disabilities and chronic conditions. We are working to promote a societal attitude shift towards disabled academics. We are convinced that modifications to the current academic system are required to achieve proportionate employment of academics with disabilities.
