"Natural hazards impact on urban areas" and "Water as hazard and water as heritage" release of the reports related to the EGU meetings (public)
Convener: Maria Bostenaru Dan
Fri, 28 Apr, 17:30–19:00

The Centre of Architectural and Urban Studies at the "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, Romania, has run a series of Romanian-Portuguese international events in 2013 and 2014 bringing to a Romanian public the lessons and challenges of the session series "Natural hazards on urban areas and infrastructure" with which the organiser is involved since 2001 when she met Carlos Sousa Oliveira from Portugal. The report-publication will be presented here. This includes in both languages the white papers on the topic of the session by the participants, from climate change and disaster economics (COST seminars) to earthquakes (round table, the challenges of which were presented 2015 in the session).
In 2016 in Rome, while the organiser was Vasile Pârvan fellow, an EGU co-sponsored event along with the Accademia di Romania a Roma, took place. The book of abstracts and the report will be presented, which is also subject of a poster in the session. The workshop reunited Romanian, Italia, UK and USA scientists.
Both publications are available at the moment digitally.

Public information: It is aimed to publish the Rome workshop report on ICOMOS open archive http://openarchive.icomos.org/ and ZENODO.
The report on the "Natural hazards' impact on urban areas" activities will be later on available on paper.
