Magnetic field studies and electromagnetic (EM) geophysical methods address a wide spectrum of applied and fundamental problems on the scales ranging from the near-surface to the deep mantle and the core. This session covers all methods and scales of magnetic field studies and EM induction geophysics, including advancements in instrumentation and new acquisition methods, satellite missions, airborne, ground and marine measurements, data processing techniques, mathematical and numerical modelling and inversion, petrophysical studies, integrated studies combining magnetic field data or EM geophysics with other geodata and case studies. Presentations on compilation methods of heterogenous magnetic field data sets and useful definitions of magnetic field changes as well as studies of eventual temporal magnetic field anomaly changes are also encouraged. Global induction studies, EM Monitoring, applications in exploration problems and geological interpretation of magnetic and/or electrical anomalies jointly with other geodata are warmly welcome.
Solicited talks:
Alexey Kuvshinov (ETH Zurich) will talk about global induction studies
Maria Cherevatova (WWU Münster) will talk about semi-airborne EM developments
