ERE3.4 Conventional and unconventional geothermal resources: Advances in integrated approaches for exploration and monitoring |
Convener: Adele Manzella | Co-Conveners: Yves Géraud , Philippe Jousset |
Industrial development of geothermal resources, both hydrothermal and unconventional (Enhanced Geothermal System, super-hot, pressurized and co-produced, super-critical) systems, require the most advanced understanding of their properties (e.g., thermo-physical and petro-physical conditions, fluid composition,...) and structural and hydrological features of the reservoir as well as the heat source, recharge areas. The integration of a large number of various data sets is being carried on at many places in the world. Integrated modeling, both as joint and constrained inversion, is also in continuous development.
This session is focused on case studies and innovative development of integrated exploration and investigation of geothermal reservoirs in any environment, such as magmatic, sedimentary and basement, in marine conditions, on islands or on lands. We seek for contributions where managing multidisciplinary data is giving hint and provides insight of subsurface structures and conditions at regional as well as local scale (including borehole).
