 / Tue, 10 Apr, 08:30–10:00

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the subject of intense worldwide research with the goal of interconnecting a large number of “things”:
These new smart objects and sensors will be able to produce information about their environment and share it with the Internet via
wireless communication.

At the same time weather observations are the starting point for all the meteorological studies and researches, including weather forecasting, weather modeling, services and operations. Having a good dataset of observations and measurements of atmospheric parameters is a goal to achieve. Therefore, the availability and reliability of a distributed and capillary observation network is a crucial point to pursue and achieve. IoT can play a big role in this direction.

In this session contributions will be accepted on various topics concerning Meteorology and IoT, including (but not limited to):
- Innovative sensors
- Innovative systems
- New software techniques for processing large amount of data obtained with IoT
- Wireless sensor network for meteorological application
- Crowdsourcing
- Smartphone applications
- Cars as weather sensors
- IoT data integration in weather modeling
- Weather forecasting using IoT
- Case studies involving IoT
- ...
