OpenStreetMap Mapathon
Convener: Faith TaylorECSECS | Co-conveners: Joanne Wood, Hessel Winsemius
Wed, 06 May, 19:00–20:30 (CEST)

Join us to help put some of the world's most vulnerable places on the map. A mapathon is a mapping marathon, where we get together to contribute to OpenStreetMap - the world's free map. OSM is used by many organisations for disaster preparedness and response. No previous mapping experience is necessary
- just bring your laptop and we will provide the training. If you do not have a laptop, you are welcome to join to learn more, and may be able to do some 'light' mapping on your smartphone. We welcome you to learn more about crowdsourcing, open data and humanitarian response - we will also provide some tips for how to host a mapathon at your home institution.
