Mountain trail impact on soil degradation, vegetation changes and fauna disturbance

Mountain trail use by bikers, walkers, runners, horse riders,... affects the sustainability of the mountain ecosystems due to changes in the soil properties, damage on biota and soil and water loss acceleration. A multidisciplinary approach is necessary to assess the problem and new ideas to find solutions to a world wide problem that arised in the second half of the 20th century. The impact is wide and diverse, and the solutions should arrive from different disciplines.
