This vEGU21 session has inspired the initiation of a special issue on "Links between tectonics, fault evolution and surface processes in extensional systems", in the gold open access journal Frontiers in Earth Science. The special issue is edited by Frank Zwaan, Alex Hughes, Laura Gregory, Joanna Faure Walker and Lisa McNeill. The call for submission is open and will close on the 31st of October 2021.
