Career Opportunities: Speed dating style
Up to 70% of Early Career Scientists (ECS) will enter the non-academic job market following their PhD, but finding new opportunities and career paths can be daunting.
In this short course, attendees will speak with a number of experts in industry, publishing, science communication and policy, to gain advice and insights into potential career paths and opportunities outside of the traditional career direction. As many ECS are unsure which career path they are interested in, it is important to interact with experts from a number of fields. Therefore, the short course will operate similar to speed-dating, whereby participants will have 10 minutes to speak with an expert before moving tables to speak to another.
This short course is aimed at ECS, however, anyone interested in alternative careers and/or a new direction are invited to join.
