Publishing your research successfully: strategies and information
Convener: Rónadh Cox | Co-convener: Tim Nagle-McNaughton

This session will focus not on writing, but on the process and mechanics of publishing. How do you frame your paper to meet the journal’s aims and reviewers’ expectations? Find out what makes a well-prepared manuscript—including an attention-getting cover letter, an introduction that serves its purpose, and the importance of well-thought-out figures and tables that communicate your ideas. We will discuss what to include, what to leave out, and how best to structure your manuscript; how to avoid frustrating your paper’s reviewers—sometimes Reviewer 2 may just be confused! :). We will also go over the details of submitting your paper online, and what to expect during the review and revision stages.
