The motivations and emotions behind scientific publications and conference abstracts are rarely told. While turning your abstract into a 1 min video blog or hand-held recorded video with your phone, you will learn how to put those elements in a plot that hooks your audience into a conversation that matters for both. During this two-hours short course, we will ask participants to record a short story with their phone using objects in their current location somehow related to their abstract: this can be a picture or pictures, it can be the house itself or any other object in the room. In either case, the object must be part of the story and when possible developed throughout it. You will ultimately receive feedback from the variety group of participants and take home from this session your first vlog to share beyond via social media networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram.
