The Ocean Virtual Laboratory (OVL) has been actively developed in the past 10 years and now offers a virtual platform to allow oceanographers to discover the existence and then to handle jointly, in a convenient, flexible and intuitive way, the various co-located EO and related model/in-situ datasets over dedicated regions of interest with a multifaceted point of view. Hands on tutorial, making use of the freely available online and standalone tools will be provided, going through a few typical case studies highlighting the potential of satellite earth observation for upper ocean dynamic analysis. The standalone tool tutorial will include the installation of SEAScope and the python bindings, to exploit the analysis capabilities using jupyter notebooks.
