The Early Career Scientist (ECS) reception bring together ECS from across the scientific divisions with award-winning researchers, members of the EGU Union Council and Committees, sibling geoscience organisations, and selected industry partners. Participants are invited to build connections across fields of science and with senior members of the geoscience community in an informal setting with drinks and light snacks provided.

Tables will be sign-posted indicating where to go, whether you’re looking to meet fellow ECS from a particular division or join the discussion around themes like policy, publications, or science communication.

No registration is required to attend the reception. Note that the event has a maximum capacity and spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis; attendees will not be able to join if the event is full.

Early Career Scientists (ECS) are invited meet over lunch to provide feedback on the ECS experience at the EGU General Assembly and learn about what EGU does for the ECS community throughout the year.

The Games Night is associated with the "Games for Geoscience" session. We encourage you to explore this session as convenors and numerous presenters will have their captivating games available to play. It's also a chance to engage directly with the creators, gaining insights into the innovative approaches shaping the intersection of geoscience and gaming. We also highly recommend anyone who has developed their own game to bring it along.

Early Career Scientists (ECS) are invited to grab a coffee and make their way to the EGU Booth, where they meet and (re)connect just a step away from the bustling, energetic hive of the Assembly; build a network, share what you’ve learnt, or simply catch a moment to relax. Early Career Scientist Representatives will also be available during this time: attendees have the opportunity to learn how the Reps elevate the voice of ECS within the Union all year long and how attendees can get involved in ECS activities within and without the Assembly.
