This session is open to all stratigraphers, sedimentologists and palaeontologists, offering the opportunity to present and discuss a broad range of topics that do not necessarily fit within the proposed thematic sessions. The PICO format provides dedicated screen time for live discussion and interaction, fostering exchange across disciplines and reaching a broad audience.

This session invites sedimentological, geochemical, biological, and chronological studies of lacustrine archives quantifying rates and impacts of climate variability, tectonics, and landscape change, especially those using novel analytical methods and data analysis in limnogeology.

We propose a cross-disciplinary session focussed on all aspects of sediment generation, routing, and reconstruction. This session follows the well-attended session SSP3/GMPV1.3 Sedimentary Provenance Analysis – Methods and Applications at EGU 2025. This included novel methodology as well as case studies.

Emphasis is on studies that can inform the future of our ecosystems.
