Earth Science is a compulsory component of many European school curricula and plays a critical role in understanding major global challenges. However, it often receives limited visibility and attention within school education. This concern is also reflected in the declining number of students enrolling in Earth Science degree programmes at university level.
The session will showcase projects, teaching strategies, educational resources, and innovative approaches designed to engage students and strengthen the role and relevance of Earth Science in the classroom.
Contributions addressing the development, implementation, or evaluation of Earth Science curricula are also particularly welcome, including experiences related to national education policies, curriculum frameworks, and legislative reforms. Comparative perspectives from different countries are encouraged, particularly where curriculum changes or policy initiatives have highlighted effective practices, opportunities, limitations, or critical issues that may be transferable across different educational contexts.
Participants are invited to share their experiences, research, and ideas to strengthen international collaboration and build a broader network supporting Earth Science education, including its relevance for policy and governance.
