We are looking herein for new methodological, new techniques, new processing and new applications using UAS / drones to study any Earth Science processes.
We would like first to share our various knowledge, techniques, processing, methodologies, and experience in the use of UAS. Then we would like to illustrate the so many applications existing nowadays in Earth Sciences.
Moreover, we would like to insist on the importance to get a whole high resolution - pluri centimetric Ground Resolution – multitemporal dataset of aerial photographs coverage of a studied area at a so low price. An UAS acquisition provides after processing orthophotos as well as a high resolution Digital Surface Model from which we may process a high resolution Digital Terrain Model with many applications.
Consequently, we would expect various examples and applications from very different field in Earth Sciences such as geological and geomorphological mapping, geomorphometry, geodesy, natural hazards such as volcanic and seismic hazards, or landslide monitoring, floods, or other applications such as neotectonics and active tectonics, structural geology, tectonics, sedimentology and mapping of inaccessible outcrops, monitoring of fluvial or marine terrasses in order to get their evolutions, climate changes, and so on...
Finally we hope by this session and with time to create an « UAS community of the different colleagues who use UAS with applications in Earth Sciences » in order to optimize our practise, our results and our knowledge.
