This session advances modern water quality science by multi-platform observation, process-level understanding and intelligent governance. It highlights climate and human impact analysis, hybrid process–machine learning modelling, updated assessment standards, and smart digital management. We welcome cross-disciplinary work linking observation, simulation and governance, including transboundary water quality cooperation, to build more resilient, adaptive solutions for global water quality challenges.
This session invites cutting-edge abstracts spanning the following priority research areas (topics are not restricted to the listed items):
Space–air–ground integrated monitoring systems for water quality assessment;
Novel monitoring technologies for the detection of pathogens and (micro)biological parameters;
Transport and transformation processes of nutrients, contaminants, and emerging pollutants
Impacts of ecological processes, climate change and human activities on water quality
