Ocean Dynamics, Transport, Mixing and Exchange
Convener: Nicole Delpeche-Ellmann | Co-conveners: Eduardo Zorita, Birgit Hünicke, Saeed Rajabi-KiasariECSECS, Svetlana Jevrejeva

Ocean dynamics span a broad range of spatial and temporal scales, with interacting processes governing the transport, stirring, mixing and exchange of water masses, heat, salt, carbon, nutrients and other tracers. Understanding how these processes interact across scales, from the surface through the water column and across air–sea–ice boundaries, remains a major challenge, particularly under climate variability, climate change and extreme events.
This session welcomes studies addressing circulation, sea-level variability, currents, waves, fronts, eddies, filaments, and mesoscale and submesoscale dynamics. Topics may include transport pathways and connectivity, stirring and mixing, vertical and subsurface dynamics, air–sea–ice interactions, and links with biogeochemistry and marine ecosystems.
We encourage contributions using satellite and other remote-sensing observations, in situ measurements, numerical and Lagrangian modelling, theoretical approaches, and emerging data-driven methods.
