This open PICO session welcomes presentations on a broad range of ocean processes and oceanographic techniques, including interdisciplinary studies that span several themes and may therefore not fit within a single specialised session.
The session covers all marine disciplines, including interactions of the ocean with the atmosphere and/or cryosphere, and welcomes both global studies and regional work with broader relevance across the open ocean and shelf seas. Contributions on ocean processes may include topics such as turbulent mixing, phytoplankton bloom characterisation, and air–sea interactions.
We also welcome advances enabled by new instruments and techniques, novel applications of established technologies, and the integration of complementary observational and modelling approaches. These may include gliders, autonomous vehicles, novel sensors, multi-platform observations, robotics, numerical model development and parameterisations, novel instrumentation, or new ways of combining established and emerging approaches.
