Hazard situations involve multiple forms of knowledge and institutional action, including scientific assessment, scenario development, planning, risk communication and emergency management. These dimensions are often addressed separately, despite their interdependence across the different phases of risk governance. The session examines how scientific scenarios are translated into institutional decisions, how risks are communicated to exposed communities, and how knowledge and responsibilities evolve during and after emergencies. Contributions are invited to analyse the interaction between these dimensions across different hazards, institutional settings and geographical contexts, including approaches that focus on individual disciplines or phases.
