The study on superficial grain size dynamics has been a fundamental tool in comprehending surface processes such as erosion, fluvial geomorphology, landslides, volcanic activity, coastal dynamics, and glacial areas, particularly in the context of changing climate. Traditional techniques for grain characterization are related to a high time and labour costs and have been reinventing for decades. This session aims to present various methodologies applied to grain size characterization across different geomorphological subjects.
