The total solar eclipses of 12 August 2026 and 2 August 2027 offer exceptional opportunities for heliophysics and planetary science. This session invites contributions presenting results from the 2026 eclipse, including coordinated ground-based and space-borne observations, modelling, and public outreach and engagement. In particular, results from a multi-site observing campaign coordinated by EGU, COSPAR and LUNEX will be presented.
The session will also address preparations for the 2 August 2027 eclipse, whose path of totality crosses southern Spain, North Africa and the Middle East, with a maximum duration of totality of more than six minutes. We welcome contributions on instrumentation, space-based observations, modelling and predictions, as well as citizen science and public engagement.
