RHP0.1 | Earth and Environmental Science in and from the Asia-Pacific Region
Earth and Environmental Science in and from the Asia-Pacific Region
Convener: Jens Klump | Co-conveners: Lesley Wyborn, Grace E. Shephard, Valentin Zuchuat

The Asia-Pacific region encompasses an extraordinary diversity of geological, environmental, climatic, oceanographic, and ecological systems, while also facing many of the world's most significant Earth and environmental sustainability challenges. This session welcomes contributions from across the full spectrum of disciplines represented at EGU, showcasing research conducted in, relevant to, or led from the Asia-Pacific region.
Hosted through the EGU27 Perth Regional Hub and running throughout the week of the General Assembly, the session provides a dedicated opportunity for researchers from across the Asia-Pacific region to participate in person in this global conference. It aims both to highlight the breadth and excellence of geoscience research in the region and to strengthen engagement by enabling participation from researchers who may not be able to travel to Europe and/or have limited timezone access to the online sessions in Vienna.
Contributions may address regional challenges such as climate change, natural hazards, water resources, ecosystems, oceans, energy, or mineral resources, but are not limited to these themes. We particularly encourage interdisciplinary studies and contributions that advance understanding of Earth and environmental systems within the Asia-Pacific context.
Presentations will be organised into thematic sessions across the week, bringing together related topics from the Earth, environmental, and planetary sciences to promote scientific exchange, foster new collaborations, and strengthen connections between the Asia-Pacific and global geoscience communities.
