Meteorites are the oldest rocks of the solar system. Their origin is closely linked to the formation of proto-earth and proto-planetary material in general. One focus of this session is the relevance of meteorite research for an improved understanding of the formation and evolution of the Earth and the other planets. This session also covers all other aspects of meteorite research, including the study of lunar and martian meteorites. Contributions on related topics, such as impact processes, micrometeorites and material acquired through sample return missions, would also be appropriate.
