The International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA2009) is a fantastic opportunity for scientists around the world, and in particular, in Europe to showcase the excitement and challenges of astronomy and space sciences today. While celebrating the 400th anniversary of Galileo's observations through the telescope, IYA2009 highlights the technological advances in telescopes, spacecrafts and instruments along with the amazing discoveries that have changed our view of the Universe in which we live. This session will show case the different IYA2009 activities related with Planetary Sciences.
