Workshop: observational techniques for the jovian system
Convener: P. Drossart  | Co-Conveners: M. Dougherty , Clark , Boldt

The Europa Jupiter System Mission has been jointly selected by NASA and ESA in 2009 for further study. It consists of the two elements :
1) A Jupiter Ganymede Orbiter (JGO) assumed to be developed and launched by ESA
2) A Jupiter Europa Orbiter (JEO) assumed to be developed and launched by NASA
The main investigations of the mission are, in addition to Ganymede and Europa, the Jupiter system as a whole, including other Galilean satellites, magnetosphere, atmosphere and irregular satellites. A description of the mission and a model payload for the two elements can be found on the following websites. This workshop is intended to give an opportunity to the Jovian community to present the state-of-the-art observational techniques intended to address the science objectives of the mission, in preparation of future announcement of opportunities for instrumentation. It is also open to present important or
critical science questions and potential observations that might answer these questions.
