In May 2012 ESA selected the JUICE concept as the first L-class mission in the Cosmic Vision Programme, with a foreseen launch date in 2022. “Emergence of habitable worlds around gas giants” is the overarching theme of the mission. JUICE will perform detailed investigations of Jupiter and its system in all their inter-relations and complexity with particular emphasis on Ganymede as a planetary body and potential habitat. Investigations of Europa and Callisto will complete a comparative picture of the Galilean moons. The session will focus on presentation of the JUICE mission architecture and the selected payload (to be announced in February 2013). The session will consist of solicited oral talks by Principle Investigators of the selected experiments and associated posters.
