Of all the research activity carried out in Europe, planetary science probably offers the most opportunities for cultural and inspirational outreach activities: the exploration of our Solar System enormously deepens our understanding of who we are and what we might become; the sight of European spacecraft and citizens at the forefront of such exploration inspires young people young people to consider studies and careers in the physical sciences.

This session will bring together outreach providers, researchers, amateur astronomers, educators and journalists to discuss the latest developments in activities to enhance the visibility and level of public engagement with planetary science. Innovative techniques and best-practice from tried-and-tested activities will be presented.
