This session invites contributions highlighting examples and trends of work being conducted in planetary cartography and planetary geo-information systems. Illustrations of how new remote sensing data are organized, collected, mapped and exploited to reveal new science are of great interest. Further, we invite reports on experiences gathered while mapping irregular shaped bodies like 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko; similar tasks are to be expected in the future with plans to visits asteroids. Special interest in this scope lays on the definition of reference systems and their realization, how to best represent their irregular 3D shapes on planar maps, and how to best visualize the results?

Public information: This session will discuss examples, techniques and trends of work being conducted in planetary cartography and planetary geo-information systems.
