The session includes results from previous and current sample return missions and expected results from sample return missions in progress. Future technologies for sample analysis are also part of this session.
Specifically, the session is opened, but not restricted, to the following topics: a) preparation, performed studies, expected and first results from in-flight and future sample return missions (Hayabusa 2, Osiris-Rex, Chang’e 5, MMX); b) new results from in-orbit observations of past sample return missions (Hayabusa, Stardust); c) new laboratory analyses on samples returned from past missions (e.g., Luna, Apollo, Stardust, Hayabusa); d) new sample return mission concepts; e) technologies and methods for sample return; f) technologies and concepts for curation facilities; g) technologies and concepts for handling, transport and analysis of returned samples.
