In this talk, we will discuss the pronounced gender gap in Wikipedia, reflecting on its causes, consequences, and solutions. We will focus on the biographies of women astronomers, and we will make a comparison between the English and Spanish Wikipedia. The talk will be given by Mentxu Ramilo Araujo, a member of Wikimujeres and Wikimedia España. She came to Wikipedia to contribute with her knowledge in the field of sports. She soon realized that the phrase ‘the free encyclopedia that EVERYONE can edit’ was not quite true. She works for a diverse and egalitarian Wikipedia in which women are not part of a minority.

The Opening ceremony provides an overview of the forthcoming week of EPSC as well as providing an opportunity for the Local Organizing Committee, the City of Granada, the Europlanet Society and EANA to welcome all delegates. We will also present some details on the Society and opportunities for delegates to join and help build the Society. Finally we will take the opportunity to commemorate three colleagues from the European Planetary science community who sadly have passed away in the last year.

The US Decadal Strategy for Planetary Science and Astrobiology 2023-2032, “Origins, Worlds, and Life” (https://doi.org/10.17226/26522), has identified key science questions, future mission priorities, and strategy for future planetary exploration.  The findings of the Decadal Survey will influence the trajectory of the international planetary science community for years to come, alongside similar strategic surveys within Europe (e.g., ESA's Voyage 2050) and elsewhere.

This community event provides EPSC attendees with the opportunity to hear from the leaders and authors of the Decadal Survey, enabling discussion and questions about future missions and scientific priorities.

This event will be livestreamed and recorded, with the Zoom Webinar link becoming available on this page 15 minutes before (18:30CEST) the scheduled start time.

The intent of the multi-agency panel is to continue a dialogue of Venus exploration, which was started at the IKI-NASA Venera-D workshop in December 2021, where ESA and NASA announced the formation of the Venus Science Coordination (VeSCOOR) group and invited all Agencies to participate and share their plans Venus exploration plan and areas of mission collaboration. The VeSCoor announcement was released 20 July and nominations are due 30 September 2022.
