This session will focus on:
- Modelling of rainfall induced landslides at local and regional scales,
- Hydrological aspects related to the initiation and development of slope failures,
- Definition of rainfall thresholds for the possible initiation of single landslides or population of slope failures,
- Landslide forecasting through the integration of meteorological and hydrogeological models and quantitative rainfall measurements and estimates,
- Landslide monitoring and local warning systems,
- Regional to global landslide warning systems,
- Influence of climate and human-induced changes on landslide types, patterns and activity,
- Coastal slope processes: identification of the conditions that favours the occurrence of coastal instabilities and associated erosion and influence of the sea storms,
- Landslide forecasting in operational environments.
