The deep Earth: Looking down into the Mantle and core. (co-organized)
Convener: Jaroslava Plomerova
Oral Programme
 / Mon, 03 May, 10:30–12:00  / Room 27
Poster Programme
 / Attendance Mon, 03 May, 17:30–19:00  / Hall XL

This session aims to discuss contributions presenting constraints on the structure and dynamic processes of the deep Earth. Studies presenting new data/images both of the upper and lower mantle, and the core are especially welcome - paticularly global and regional tomographic images of velocity heterogeneities, mapping mantle discontinuities, e.g., by converted phases, modelling large-scale seismic anisotropy and attenuation, etc. Surveying the deep Earth with different methods and data, their joint inversions and interpretation, and particularly 3D approaches, will allow us to create more realistic models of the deep Earth and to improve our understanding the Earth evolution.

Public information: "Poster Oral Summary" (~2-3 minute presentation per poster) to highlight the results and discussion is planned to follow the morning session (May 03, 10:30-12:00) in a "Poster Summaries and Discussion" room (its number will be specified later) at 13:00-13:45.
