This session is dedicated to give an overarching view on the core topics of the division Energy, Resources & the Environment. Therefore we have invited three solicited talks dealing with:
1) The EU's 2° target and available mitigation technologies. One focus is going to be here the techno-economically induced mitigation costs.
2) Wind power as the predominant new source of electrical power and its dependence on weather and climate.
3) The hypothesis that the pressing challenges for the 21st century are directly linked to the limited (geo-)resource underground.
